Peanuts and Philosophies

If you haven't already made plans to catch 9 Works Theatrical's production of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown over at the RCBC Auditorium, I suggest you take the kiddoes along and do so.

I didn't know what to expect, only that it would be a welcome diversion for the boys. Call it a small window of opportunity or a desperate attempt on my part to expand their horizons.  Our one year anniversary from the time they firmly decided football would be king in our homes and in our lives is coming up.  They still wear jerseys at every chance they can get.  When they're not catching the games at the oddest times of times of the day on TV, or talking about who's being traded to what team or who's wearing the latest Mercurials,  they're on the field playing it.  They trained five out of seven days a few weeks ago.  I told you: crazy-obsessed.

Now back to the play. Surprise. Surprise. They loved it. They both sat at the edge of their seats laughing out loud at some point, I would have otherwise guessed they were watching Real Madrid clash with FC Barcelona. Ok, maybe not completely but it was good enough for all of us.

Mak and Tato were still talking about it days after.  Mak says the show is  not just funny it is really, really funny.  He's been asking when I'd be taking him to the next "episode".  He's also decided Happiness is the musical's best song.  Good choice.  Good times.

Tato: Mama, Sally was so funny she kept changing her mind about her philosophy.  What's a philosophy anyway?
Me: It's asking questions and trying to find answers about things you don't know.
Tato: Like what is good for me?
Me:  That's a  good one.  And if you don't know the answer to that right away, that's cool.  Many grownups don't even have the answer to that one.
Tato: But I already know.  FOOTBALL. That's my philosophy: Football is good for us.

Hmmm....

Suckers for Soccer

MacDaddy will say it is football. Not soccer, futbol. But my title would have sucked. So there.

Anyway, it's been a fun-filled and crazy summer. And were just getting started. The boys have five full months of summer this year because big school is next on the agenda. Yup, big school. Don't even get me started on that.

So thank you, first half of summer. That was fun. Mak and Tato are living, breathing, sleeping and eating football. It isn't even funny anymore. They're still sporting football jerseys every single minute. I've stopped counting. I think its well over thirty days straight already.

Forget still life. Artwork for their acrylic painting class.

At the beach still in jerseys

Finally out of his jersey to enjoy a gorgeous morning at the beach

Oh wait.. they're drawing football logos

Were off tonight on a really long trip. Hello, Summer Part Two. Major roadtrip planned and amusement park overload together with my Folks, My BigBro and LilBro, the niece and nephew and a little bean on the way (not mine!). We can't remember the last time we were all together like this. It should be a lot of fun. Welcoming some serious family bonding (unless we kill each other first). Plus, plus MacDaddy and I have a date with Bono. That was #2 on our bucket list.

Our bags are packed. Our plane leaves in a few hours. And it doesn't even shock the hell out of me anymore to see these inside Mak and Tato's luggage.

Guess who's geared for vacation? See you in a month!

Mr. Messi

Except for pajamas at night, I haven't seen Mak and Tato in anything but football jerseys in the last freaking days. Eleven days so far. And counting. Serious, serious soccer mania. Mak even has the matching British accent to prove it . He's uhh... "five and a hawf".

Anyway, somewhere near their favorite shabu shabu restaurant and on our way to the ice cream bar, we chanced upon a petition/ gratitude wall the mall set up in High Street for Holy Week. Seemed like a good a time as any to pause and say thank you anyway. And so we did.

"saying" thanks

Mak: Papa Jesuss thank you for making soccer

Tato: Thanks Jesus For FCBarcelona

Happy Easter! O-le! O-le! O-le! O-le!
